Create Your Perfect Garden with the Aid of Gardening Scotland 2010 (April 2010)
IF you know your garden could look better than it does but you are struggling to achieve its potential, then come to Gardening Scotland 2010 where, aside from inspiration, there will be experts on hand to help you achieve your dream.
A team of top designers will be on hand throughout the three days of the Show to give advice on working with a professional.
Not only that but in The Dobbies Floral Hall, some of the best growers and nurseries from across the UK will be selling exceptional plants.
Amongst them this year will be the renowned Crug Farm Plants whose owners Sue and Bleddyn Wynn-Jones have travelled the world seeking out new species for our gardens.
Meanwhile Kevock Garden Plants from Lasswade will be returning with a contemporary floral display after winning ‘Best Floral Exhibit’ for four years in a row.
Outside in the Show Ground you can find a full range of gardening accessories, including beautiful furniture and garden buildings as well as some of the best greenhouses on the market.
Joy McNaughton of Munro Greenhouses says interest in growing under glass has increased apace with the grow-your-own phenomena.
“Most people opt for a 6’x4’ greenhouse to begin with but there are lots of clever ways to maximise growing space, including collapsible staging that can hold seedlings in spring and then be removed to allow tomatoes to grow to their full height later in the season.”
Joy says that one of the best greenhouses for Scotland is the Solar Dome. “It provides exceptional growing space with an ability to withstand even the worst weather conditions so it is particularly good if yours is an exposed garden”.
