Gardening Advice
If you’ve just been bitten by the gardening bug then no doubt you’ll have lots of questions.
When’s the best time to plant runner beans? When is a Geranium really a Pelargonium? And will you lose your Dahlias if you leave them in the ground over winter?
Even experienced gardeners can be tied up in knots by wayward climbers or struck down by blight.
So if your garden is less Paradise on earth and more What’s Up Dock, then it’s time you got yourself some help and fortunately Gardening Scotland is exactly where you’ll find it.
For more than 10 years Gardening Scotland has been giving gardeners access to some of the gardening world’s most experienced professionals. There is virtually nothing that our experts don’t know on all aspects of raising flowers and vegetables and dealing with difficult plots. Some are academics from the worlds of botany and horticultural education. Others are working gardeners and designers who get their hands dirty and others yet are highly-experienced specialists whose knowledge about one group of plants is world beating.
As well as this, volunteers from the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society man an advice stand in the Floral Hall throughout the Show.
The best thing is that, for the price of the entry ticket, visitors get access to these experts at no extra cost and as the advice given out is relevant to gardeners in Scotland, that makes the price of a ticket to Gardening Scotland more than worth the price!
