The 2011 Show
A total of 40,000 visitors took part in Gardening Scotland 2011, making it one of our busiest shows ever.
We also had a record 18 Chelsea Flower Show medal winners in The Dobbies Floral Hall and so many of you wanted to take home your share of the wonderful plants on show that exhibitors selling everything from Heucheras to Hostas had sold out before the Show was over.
Top quality plants are what Gardening Scotland is all about, but as always the event proved to be a great day out for everyone, with wonderful Show Gardens, mini Pallet Gardens and outdoor exhibitors selling an exciting range of home and garden goods.
The Food Fayre had never been busier, with long queues forming around some of the busiest stands, and if anyone left it too late to pick up sausages from Debbie & Andrew’s, well then you are going to have to get there earlier next year!

The wonderful Wendy Barrie and the ladies of the SWRI kept everyone entertained in the Demonstration Kitchen and the Plant Crèches, which were run by the horticultural charity, Perennial, were almost overwhelmed by the number of people dropping off plants in order to free their hands up for more shopping.
The fun may be over for this year, but the countdown starts now to Gardening Scotland 2012 from 1st to 3rd June, so don’t forget to pick up your tickets when they go on sale in November.
