Worldskills UK Landscaping

This Worldskills UK Landscaping competition, run
by the Association of Professional Landscapers
is a great opportunity for trainee landscapers
to showcase their skills across a number of
technical skill areas alongside planning and material
management competing to be the best in the UK.
Five heats being held across the UK and a semi-final
that will consist of 3 days of training covering, run by
industry professionals enables students to develop
their skills and compete with peers.
The competitors who qualify for the November
2017 Final, to be held at The Skills Show in
Birmingham, will need to use what they have
learned to individually build elements of a garden
that has been pre-designed for them. All of this
under the watchful eye of 100,000+ school children,
teachers and parents.

Beautiful Gardens Build By Professionals 

The Association of Professional Landscapers (APL)
comprises accredited landscape companies who
design, build and maintain gardens throughout the
UK. The rigorous inspection process to join is the
toughest within the industry.
The APL is the only landscaping scheme operator
of Trustmark, a Government endorsed initiative that
promotes professional trades to consumers. Garden

displaying what can be achieved in a small space.

Hand Landscaping Demostrations

On the Saturday and Sunday of the show
students from SRUC Oatridge Campus
Landscape Construction Courses will
demonstrate various hard landscaping
techniques including; surveying, block laying and
building arches. Come and have a go yourselves!
Staff and students will be on hand to answer
your questions on hard landscaping for the
